Please read the information and guidance below before commencing this process.
There are three pre-conditions to being a coach in
O’Raghallaigh’s CLG.
You must attend one of the Safeguarding Sessions, which are
run several times a year within Louth. Details of upcoming sessions will be
communicated by the club. You may also speak with a Lead Coach or a member
of the Children’s Officer team.
You must complete the Foundation Coaching Course, delivered
through the GAA Coaching & Games structure. Course details will be provided
by the club or relevant Coaching & Games personnel.
You must be Garda Vetted before helping with any U18 team or
activity. This is a legal requirement and includes Minor teams.
Garda Vetting Process
Set up an account on
www.foireann.ie
(you may already have one).
Print and complete the NVB1 form.
Printed copies are available in the clubhouse.
Arrange a face-to-face meeting with a member of the
Children’s Officer team.
Bring:
Official photo ID
Proof of address (mobile phone bills are not accepted)
The NVB1 form must be signed in the presence of the Children’s Officer.
The Children’s Officer will complete the ID Validation form and retain both
forms in line with GDPR requirements.
Take clear photos of the following:
NVB1 form
ID Validation form
Photo ID
Proof of address
For young people aged 16–17, parental consent is required
using the NVB3 form.
Submit your application through the Vetting section on Foireann.
A Children’s Officer can guide you through this at your meeting.
You will receive an email from the Gardaí requesting previous addresses.
You must respond within 30 days or the application will be cancelled.
